Round Two Tips for Coaches
Round two MUST be entirely in unison except for the girl that starts the cheer.  This means ALL vocals, motions, body positions, and skills MUST be performed by all team members on the floor at the same time in the same way.
  • The first ten counts of your cheer MUST be the precision drill.
  • During the cheer your team must perform five skills from the handbook exactly as prescribed.
  • No addiitonal skills, levels, or ripples may be performed.
  • Choose your skills wisely.  The sisters recommend you do not over shoot your team's ability.  It is often better to do an "easier" skill and score well than do a "harder" skill poorly.  For example, If your team has switch splits that are down or close to it, you are far better off doing switch splits and getting 8-9 on them than attempting triple splits and getting 5s.
  • The sisters recommend you keep your round two cheer very simple for the first few years.  Making a complicated cheer takes your team's focus off of the skills and introduces more room for error.
  • Don't forget to work on vocals and facials; this adds to team confidence and general impression.
  • For a small fee, the sisters can choreograph a round two cheer for your team and help you choose appropriate skills for your team's ability level.
